Honeycomb Panels vs. Aluminum Gusset Panels
Thickness Differences
Honeycomb panels typically come in thicknesses of 7mm, 9mm, and 12mm, with panel thicknesses of 0.32mm or 0.28mm. In contrast, aluminum gusset panels have thicknesses ranging from 0.4mm to 0.8mm. Honeycomb panels, at a thickness of 7mm, provide superior sound and heat insulation compared to traditional aluminum gussets. They are also stronger and less prone to deformation over time.
Material Composition
Honeycomb Panels
Honeycomb panels consist of three layers: a panel, a honeycomb core, and a back panel. These are usually made of aluminum-magnesium alloy and glue, with surface finishes such as spray paint, baking, or roller coating.
Aluminum Gusset Panels
Aluminum gusset panels are made from aluminum-magnesium alloy, aluminum-manganese alloy, or lead plate (coated plate). The surface is treated similarly with spray paint, baking, or roller coating. They are more environmentally friendly as they are formed in one piece by a bending machine, eliminating the need for glue and thereby avoiding formaldehyde emissions.
Installation Effects
Honeycomb Panels
Honeycomb panels offer a more integrated and seamless look, enhancing the overall aesthetic. They can be used in various designs without main lights, making them more fashionable and concise.
Aluminum Gusset Panels
Aluminum gusset panels are typically sized at 300x600mm or 300x300mm. Their installation results in visible seams between each plate, which gives a more rigid appearance.
By understanding these differences, you can better choose the panel type that suits your needs in terms of insulation, strength, environmental impact, and aesthetic preference.
