What Is Aircraft Aluminum Alloy?
Aircraft aluminum alloy is an ultra-high-strength deformed aluminum alloy widely used in the aviation industry. This alloy has excellent mechanical and processing properties, good plasticity after solution treatment, and effective heat treatment strengthening. Aluminum Alloy 2024
Aluminum alloy 2024 is a typical duralumin alloy, specifically an Al-Mg-Cu aluminum alloy. Its composition includes 4.5% copper, 0.6% manganese, and 1.5% magnesium. This combination provides a balanced composition and good overall performance.
Key features of 2024 aluminum alloy include high strength and a certain degree of heat resistance, making it suitable for parts that operate below 150°C. Notably, when the temperature exceeds 125°C, its strength surpasses that of the 7075 aluminum plate. The alloy exhibits better forming performance in hot temper, annealed, and newly quenched states. Additionally, it has a significant heat treatment strengthening effect, though the heat treatment process must be strictly followed.
